Selecting Your Wedding Music

Perkins-Chapel-at-SMU-DallasWhether you are a getting married at Perkins Chapel or elsewhere, hopefully this site will provide you assistance in selecting your wedding music. Using the menus above, navigate to what you would like to hear, and there are links to video samples of much music. This site is new, so please excuse the limited content. Perkins Chapel brides are not necessarily limited to these selections, but should consult the “Music Standards” section of their chapel contract for guidance in music approved for use in Perkins Chapel weddings. Contact me should you have any questions. You may submit your selections with this form.

Guidance for Music Selection:

  1. Most weddings have one processional for the family/mothers, a second for the attendants, and a third processional for the bride, with one recessional for everyone.
  2. You will be provided 30 minutes of prelude music, on the organ, prior to the service. You do not need to select this music, but you are welcome to make suggestions.
  3. If you would like a string quartet, trumpeter, soloist, cantor, brass ensemble, pianist, or any other sort of musician, please contact the chapel organist. We are able to contract with reliable musicians who have frequently worked at the chapel.
  4. Click here for the current chapel policies.
